Your Post Treatment Checklist

You've invested time, energy and care into your skin, so what you do afterwards can be just as important. Different treatments have different recovery needs, but there are a few simple ways to support your skin and help you get the most from your treatment.

After Skin Needling | For the first few days, think calm, clean and protected.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure and be diligent with SPF once appropriate for your treatment.

  • Avoid intense exercise and excessive heat initially.

  • Pause exfoliating acids, retinoids and other potentially irritating actives until your skin has recovered.

  • Keep your routine simple and nourishing.

  • Follow the specific post treatment products and instructions provided.

After Skin Boosters | Your nurse will provide specific aftercare depending on your treatment, but generally, your first priority is allowing the treated area to settle.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 48-72 hours.

  • Avoid excessive heat, saunas and steam initially.

  • Don't massage or manipulate the treated areas.

  • Give your skin a little breathing room before applying lots of products or makeup.

After a Peel | Peels work by encouraging changes within the skin, so the days following your treatment are all about supporting the skin barrier and allowing the process to happen.

  • Avoid picking, peeling or manually exfoliating any flaking skin.

  • Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids and other active ingredients until your therapist advises you to reintroduce them.

  • Keep your skin hydrated with gentle, supportive products.

  • Be particularly mindful of sun exposure and wear SPF.

  • Avoid excessive heat and anything that causes unnecessary irritation while your skin is recovering.

  • Follow the specific aftercare provided for your peel, as recovery can vary depending on the type and strength of treatment.

After an Anti-wrinkle Treatment | Anti-wrinkle treatments don't require extensive downtime, but giving the treatment time to settle is important.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for the period recommended by your nurse.

  • Avoid excessive heat, including saunas and very hot environments, initially.

  • Avoid rubbing, massaging or applying unnecessary pressure to the treated areas.

  • Follow your nurse's specific instructions around makeup and skincare.

  • Be patient, results develop gradually rather than appearing immediately.

After Dermal Filler | Filler involves placing product into specific areas of the face, so being mindful of pressure, heat and activity afterwards can be particularly important.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for the period recommended by your nurse.

  • Avoid excessive heat, saunas and steam initially.

  • Avoid unnecessary pressure, rubbing or massage of the treated area unless specifically instructed by your practitioner.

  • Keep the area clean and follow your personalised aftercare instructions.

  • Give swelling and tenderness time to settle before assessing your final result.

  • Avoid making assumptions about the final result immediately after your appointment, some swelling is expected and the area may change as it settles.

One thing we always tell our clients, your treatment doesn't end when you leave the studio. The little things you do afterwards can help support your skin while it recovers, and following the personalised advice is always the most important step.
