Immediately After Treatment

  • Expect heat, redness and a sunburn-like sensation for the first few hours.

  • Skin may feel warm or sensitive to touch.

  • Tiny “grid” marks or pinpoint dots are normal.

First 24–48 Hours

  • Keep the skin clean, dry and product-free unless your clinician has advised otherwise.

  • Avoid touching, scratching or picking the treated areas.

  • No makeup for 24–48 hours.

  • Avoid sweating, gyms, saunas, steam rooms and hot showers.

  • Stay out of direct sunlight.

Days 2–5

  • Mild swelling, tightness or bronzing can occur.

  • You may notice tiny micro-crusts forming, don’t pick them.

  • Introduce a gentle hydrating cream or soothing barrier product if approved by your clinician.

  • Keep SPF 50 on during the day (mineral is preferred).

Days 5–10

  • Skin gradually smooths and brightens as micro-crusts naturally shed.

  • Continue gentle skincare: cleanser, hydrator, SPF.

  • Avoid active ingredients (AHA/BHA, retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, vitamin C) until your skin specialist says you can return to your usual routine.

What to Avoid for 7–14 Days

  • Direct sunlight

  • Exfoliating products or scrubs

  • Active skincare (retinol, acids, vitamin C)

  • Heat, sweating and intense exercise

  • Swimming, spas and saunas
