WHAT IS HARD WATER?

 Hard water is water that has a high volume of hard minerals such as magnesium, calcium and metals such as iron, copper and lead. This is measured using grains per litre. To be considered hard it has above 3.5 grains per approximately 4 litres of water measured. Hard water reduces lather in soap and therefore, leaves behind soap scum, leaving a film on the hair and skin. It can also appear on shower screens as white stains.
