Hello 2026
We’re officially back in the studio this week, and it feels so good to be here again.
Being back together in the space has felt like the perfect time to pause, reset, and ease into the year, which is exactly what I wanted this first blog to be about.
Just before we went on break, I remember being asked over the phone what it means to be a holistic skin clinic vs. a skin clinic and I realised it isn’t always widely understood. For us, being a holistic (or functional) skin clinic means we don’t look at your skin in isolation.
Yes, we care deeply about treatments, products, and results, but we also care about what’s happening around and beneath the skin. Things like stress levels, digestion, hormones, sleep, nutrition, environment, and lifestyle all play a role in how the skin behaves.
That’s why post Christmas breakouts, dryness, or sensitivity aren’t something we try to “strip away” or aggressively treat. They’re information. A sign that the body is recalibrating.
When we understand the why, we can support the skin properly, not just chase symptoms.
Taking it back to basics this January
If your skin feels overwhelmed, reactive, or just a little “off” right now, January can be a beautiful time to strip things back, not add more.
Rather than reaching for stronger actives or changing everything at once, sometimes the most supportive thing you can do is return to a simple, consistent routine that focuses on barrier health, hydration, and protection.
Below is a gentle back to basics routine we often recommend when the skin needs a reset. (You can tailor this with the products that best suit your skin.)
Taking things back to basics doesn’t mean going backwards. It gives the skin space to settle, rebuild, and respond properly before we layer anything more advanced back in.
If you’re unsure what your skin needs right now, we’re always happy to guide you, sometimes the most effective plan is also the simplest one.
